Fabrizio Bosso
| Biography |

Fabrizio Bosso started playing the trumpet at the age of five.
By the time he was fifteen he had already graduated from the conservatory
Giuseppe Verdi in Turin. He then his cultivated his interest in high music
and approached jazz. An imperious, winning recall, to whom the Turinese
hasn’t been able to resist.
Technically faultless, what mostly strikes in Fabrizio’s work is
his remarkable capacity in creating a personal grammar, in which colour
and sound dynamics are never easily predictable, the sense of swing is
taken to extremes, the creative tension is constantly present, even in
standard rendering. Besides playing in concerts conducted by George Russell,
Mike Gibbs, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Carla Bley e Steve Coleman he
has recently been invited by Charlie Haden to take part in some stages
of the promo tour of the Liberation Music Orchestra's new album.
In 1999 he was awarded the "Miglior Nuovo Talento" of Italian
jazz from an opinion survey held by the magazine Musica Jazz, and in years
he has regularly played with Salvatore Bonafede, Giovanni Mazzarino and
Enrico Pieranunzi’s bands. In time he has set up the High Five with
Scannapieco, has played duo with Rossano Sportiello as a tribute to Armstrong,
and trio with D'Andrea and Petrella, and with his quartet - formed by
Mannutza, Bulgarelli and Tucci - with whom he will soon record, and he
has realized various projests as leader and co-leader. He has also carried
out some profitable projects with artists engaged in music bordering on
jazz, as Sergio Cammariere and Nicola Conte
